Back when I was studying ceramics in college we were doing photo imagery on
glazed ceramic surfaces by making a photo-silkscreen and screening china
paints, which are essentially low-fire glazes and colorants, onto decal
paper. Once dried, the photo-image decal was transferred to a pre fired glaze
surface and the whole piece was fired again to a low temp.
