What if?

The alt-photo list has proven over the years to be a great service to
alt-photographers. I was wondering if we could extend it somewhat.

Suppose we set up a database that was accessible on line, that had the
names and email addresses (and snail mail?) of alt-photo folks. Perhaps we
could include the special interests of the persons, ie, platinum, gum,
gravure, etc. This database would be accessible geographically by mailing
code or by interest. This would allow someone who wanted to have a local
gathering of like minded people to be able to make invites. We have had a
lot of success over the years with our Platypus Parties and one year we had
someone fly in from Seattle and another from Puerto Rico, so we had pretty
good geographic coverage. However not everyone can afford to go long
distances.

The list is good for trading technical information but the high touch
aspects are missing. Seeing other peoples prints is of great value.

I'd be willing to donate web space or to maybe send non-online folks a
listing of their area if they send a SASE.

Any ideas?
