A couple of "ink engineers," from HP and others, have posted on various
Usenet groups on this topic. What little they have been willing discuss on
topics of permanence of ink jet inks has tended to zero in on the fact that
the paper has a great influence on the longevity of the inks. Perhaps the
non-absorbant surface of transparency material provides for a better
interface for ink jet inks, with respect to fade resistance. I'll post
this question there and get back to y'all.
