All this talk about digital inkjet negatives is very interesting, but I
have a few questions for members already experimenting.
1. Does the 1440x720dpi (sylus-800) offer a substantial advantage over
the 720x720dpi (sylus photo) when printing black only negatives?
2. This may be a daft question but here goes: If the Sylus Photo
produces a smoother full-color print by using 6 inks could we not
(here's the daft bit) print say a *very dark* tri or quad toned neg and
utilize the *smoothing ability* of the extra inks?
If the above (#2) would not work because of the lack of density in the
color ink could we not just output a positive image from the Epson Photo
and simply contact it to some Pan-film (I think this may have been
suggested in an earlier post - sorry). Hopefully I'm not too off-track
here!
Looking forward to your input. BTW, what are the file-sizes your all
working with in order to produce these 1440x720dpi negatives?
