Epson Stylus Photo and paper options?

Hello!

I just got my Epson Photo printer and am very pleased by the quality. I'd
like to hear other inkjet printer users opinions on paper. I've only
printed out a few sheets. What conventional or watercolor type papers
have you used and how do the outputs compare?

I bought a 10 pack of Canon High Gloss Film for $17. The output is
fantastic. I compared an image I printed on an Iris to this paper and I
prefer my Epson...Not bad.

I find it interesting that it is recommended that the photo quality paper
should be used within 6 months? Is this just a sales ploy or is there a
chemical reason for this?

I've asked several Computer store people with not much luck about input
resolution. With this 720x720 printer, what is the minimum resolution of
a scan that is needed to get the best results? At some point (200dpi?) a
higher resolution scan will not increase the quality of the output.

Thanks

Bob
