To the list.
A collegue of mine had an interesting
question, which I couldnot answer, but maybe someone on the list
can.
The
subject can be of interest to all alt-photo workers, because one of our goals
probably is stability (besides of coarse our main goal
"expression").
It is more or less known what kind of
illumination is allowed for pictures in a museum envirement. (Official
recommendations).
There is also an American report on
changes in densities (of salt prints, platinum prints, etc.) before and after a
historic photo exhibition due to the light conditions (which proved how unpredictable the stability of
those photos to light were).
I also know about a Dutch report on
the use of flashlight in musea.
But what about scanning say a salt
print (or other alt-processes) with a HP Scanjet 4c (or probably worse: a
photocopier)?
Is there someone on the list knowing
anything on that specialised subject? (Recommandations, reports, density
readings before and after exposure, etc.) Looks like a difficult item. There are
so many variables: I.R. U.V. intensity, duration, kind of process, the effect of
sudden local changes in Lumen and heat, etc.
Thanks for your possible
responces.
