<< Sylvania sent me a sheet outlining the hazards of the bulb's contents
(disposal,
exposure, etc.) but NOTHING on the radiation. Verbally, their tech guy
ASSURED me that there were no safety issues to be concerned about in
regards to the light. I don't buy it. >>
I, too, have wondered about this. If you go to a disco, there are many
unshielded UV bulbs in order to get the wierd effects. We were in one in
Greece last year, and it made my "transition" lenses go dark, so there had to
be UV all around. Also, it threw my focus off, and I could not stay in the
room without shielding my eyes from the direct radiation.
