Two of my better print collectors are psychiatrists. When these two
come to look at prints, they bring all their behavioral/moral baggage
with them and before the afternoon is out, they have made every
landscape they see into a comment on sexuality or familial relations.
Their talk is similar to that of an art historian discussing why artists
interpret reality as they do; Dali's limp clock comes to mind.
When they leave I roll with laughter -- even before the check is
cashed.
