I've seen this happen with many papers, especially Strathmore Bristol. It is
quite unfortunate, & very little can be done. However, sometimes treating the
paper in Hydrochloric acid before anything else will remove the contaminate.
Also, hold the sheet of paper up to a light table, sometimes you can see where
the black spots are going to appear. Sometimes they appear as dark spots, &
sometimes they appear as lighter spots. Circle anything questionable & make a
print. See if anything circled turns black. You have my sympathies, This
happened to me when I perchased a batch of Strathmore & it was extremely
frusterating.
