I use Strathmore Bristol exclusively, and thought that the funny black
spots were due to my use of technical grade dichromate, gum impurities,
etc. This is very helpful information! Thanks.

When the spots show up, usually they are easily brushed off - but it is a
very intricate process to remove them without some evidence of it having
been there.
