Ether and explosions

I am starting to wet plate and am concerned about the explosive
properties. I understand that ether will develop a crystaline formation
that is explosive just by opening the bottle. I would like to know that
if it is mixed with collodion and alcohol will it increase the time that
the mix is less hazardous.
The warning on the ether bottle says that it is only good for three
days after opening. Will mixing the collodion for coating allow me to
keep it longer.
