That is grand advice. Every chemical and compound has an MSDS. This is the
Material Safety Data Sheet. Reading this document will reveal a lot of
useful information about the material, and if one who fools around with
chemicals does not learn about the material and its dangers, then there is
a fool.
By the way, even benign chemicals have a MSDS.
