It used to be that some folks affiliated with Light Impressions once made
wonderful contact printing frames with UTV (ultratransmissible) plastic
rather than glass. They used rubber tubing to fasten the back rather than
metal clips. But really, it makes little difference. The main thing is
if the frame remains straight (warpage is no laughing matter), the back is
easily dis- and reassembled with a reasonable clip system, and if the thing
can be carried easily. (None fit this last criterion, by the way)
