Dichromate Question

I was re-reading an issue of Darkroom User and there was a statement in
it that suprized me. It said that dichromate salts are known
carcinogens. I have never heard this before and I've been involved with
the industrial usage of dichromates for many years. Can anyone point me
in the direction of some hard data??
