Ugh. Academic and public criticism are hopefully two different entities.
Should a professor condemn a student's work because the genre is not
popular at the time?

Regardless, I am admittedly affected most by the artists of the
pre-raphealite period (not Rosetti, though..yech), so even having my
photography take on the characteristics of that period, and be RECOGNIZED
as such, I can only hope this to be a positive statement about my ability.
If not, he can bugger off. =)
