not

I THINK PMK primary was created to get perfect (dense) negatives for
silver-gelatine (enlarged) printing.
I did the modification of PMK to get perfect (dense) negatives for platinum
printing - and thatīs two pair shoes.
Iīm sure you can reach the same negative quality for platinum in PMK - with
some film types.
2. i have beautiful result using the way one of you give a month ago (1
bath 1% metaborate, 2bath pmk for half devellopement and another bath of
pmk for the second part , water, fix, 1% metaborate, wash)
and then that's my new way of using pmk after all this facts.
1.1% metaborate bath 5 min.
2. pmk (20 ml A+ 40 ml b+10 ml 10% Kbr +100 water) (i put the double and it
is more active and become less worn)
and so on
i think that the big problem with pmk is that it worn out to speedly. and
the more it is worn the more it stain the base negative.
i devellop a neg with my new solution and had a beautiful neg with nice
base +stain(lowest than the traditionnal way)
IN THIS case you should not change your way.
3 the new version i see was all with preservative and more pyro
i think this way is easier and more simple than the others as it don't need
extra products (kbr is a usual product for black and white printer ) .
THE REASONS for modifications on PMK are:
1.- to cut the developing times (for example: HP5+/PMK/N+2/ =26min with
ABC+-Pyro only 10min
you will love this when you ever have to develope 50 films in 8x10".
2.- to reach even results (staining, densities etc..) in rotation
developing specially for 8x10" to 20x24" films without ghost-streakes
3.- to increase the film speed at about 1 f-stop by adding the ascorbic
acid as sub developing reagent and raised working concentration
i don't like to have to much chemical product in my lab.
that's my personnal choice everyone can do as he want but try this if you
don' t want to mix mg ofascorbic acid and mg of edta or other additive for
the same results.<
Sorry, nze - but are these the words of an alt photographer? - in this case
I mean - take the rest of the ascorbic acid (syn. Vitamin -C) and eat one
(small) spoon full after breakfast ( in a glass of water) - you will see
that you are going to become 100 years or more.
