And that should tell you something right there. It is not required.
Remember that we use lith films differently than they are designed. Most
people who use these types of film as they were designed to be used and
processed, have fewer problems doing so. For the most part, lithographic
films are processed in processors under differnet conditions than the
general photographer encounter.
