Bruce Davidson's Grain

I haven't seen the Bruce Davidson prints...but the following formula (I
think it's an old Mike Tatum gem) yields a beautiful, sharp grain with
Tri-X in 35mm:

Ilford Multigrade PAPER Developer 1:29 from Concentrate, 6.5 minutes at
80 degrees F. (yes, that's 80!)

Stop and fix normally at 70 degrees or thereabouts. The 10 degree drop
might help the grain but isn't enough to introduce reticulation in the
gelatin.
