In my vast and varied checkered past, I manufactured reproduction
automobile mirrors. I re-mirrored the old glass using solutions containing
Tin and then Silver. The coating stuck to the glass just as long as the
glass was properly prepared and absolutely clean. This was accomplished
using powered Pumice and cleaners.
Perhaps people will have better luck if they thoroughly clean the glass?
