Jamie,
Don't use metal trays for any Pt/Pd method. You'll have very expensive
platinum/palladium-coated trays if you do. Inexpensive plastic trays do
fine, or you could fabricate plexiglass trays similar to your metal
ones. I hope others can tell you what to expect with the other alt.
