Hi Judy,

Silver iodide has density, yes - maybe less than silver, but my point is
that you won't have three-quarters of the image disappear in the fix, even
if it's printing density does not exactly correspond with its visual
density. You've no doubt seen Sandy's caution, but if you don't leave them
on the window sill maybe you'll get a couple of shots at printing negs that
are otherwise useless. I honestly don't know how well it'll work, but why
not try?

The desensitiser I mentioned was, apparently, believed to be 4% pot. iodide,
so that is what I'd use. Probably, though, the strength isn't very
important.

Has anyone out there tried desensitising? I tried with phenosafranine once,
but I don't think it works with most modern emulsions.
