A friend of mine is doing a series of images on steel plates (using
Luminos liquid emulsion) and would like to produce matte black borders on
the steel. What chemistry would be required to do so?
An automotive restoration materials catalog from Eastwood lists a black
phosphate coating system, but it is quite costly due to the inclusion of
goggles, jars, brushes, etc. I have a feeling that the actual chemistry
cost is minimal.
