Dry ice will work. You must keep the holder insulated (that's the problem)
The gas mixture sometimes is called Green Mix. The theory is to take all
the O2 from the film with vacuum, then replace with the gas. It only works
for long exposures. Color film can also be used. The astronomers call it
hyped film. You can also expose your film to oxygen peroxide fumes. Don't
let the film get in touch with the liquid.
