I have a still (homemade) capable of making 92% (yes, 184 proof) ethanol. It
takes 25-30l of 12% wash per charge and does it in about 3½ hours. No
metalworking needed to make it. The packed column is abt 90cm and used
standard plumbing fittings. DIY hooch is legal here - the meths that first
comes off is good for cleaning too.
