For a very pricey amount, Jobo will "make" drums for large sheet film sizes
(ie 16x20 and 20x24). As described in their literature, they are an insert
of a ribbed plastic sheet which goes inside a drum and allows solutions to
reach all surfaces of the film cleanly and without a problem. (By
comparison, sending film through a regular print drum is problematie
because the ribs block the chemical flow of the base side of the film.)
I'm wondering whether anyone has tried a homemade version of Jobo's
expensive system, some kind of insert which would slip into a regular print
drum and allow problem-free film processing. I know I could make drums of
ABS, but I'd like to convert a Jobo drum if possible because I like the
ease of use with the machine (ie the lift assembly, the tempering bath,
etc).
Any successes, failures, guesses, etc.
Thanks,
Bill
