My nomination for best platinum portrait past or present is Gertrude
Kasebier's Alfred Stieglitz -- the iconic Stieglitz (and VERY bold and
brushy, please note, none of this modulationismo stuff).
For contemporaries, I'm not sure Pradip Malde does portraits per se,
but his figures -- sort of portraits -- are most impressive.
