Meredith,

In the collection of the Center for Creative Photography (my former
employer), there is one lonely, lovely print by Jed Devine. The paper is
definitely Bienfang Graphics 360, as suggested by Kerik and Judy. This is
not "rice paper" and neither are the Japanese papers that are commonly known
as such. Of course, that doesn't mean that the prints you saw were
necessarily on the same paper. In my limited experience working with
Bienfang, I have found it to be noticeable cooler in image color than most
papers, even with pure palladium developed in hot potassium oxalate.
Ammonium citrate is cooler yet.

If you are interested in Japanese papers (and are new to the list), check
the archives of about a month ago for an excellent thread on that topic
featuring several very informative posts from jewelia.
