One thing that I failed to mention in my earlier post is that under certain
conditions, like a little bit of humidity, plastic sleeves can stick to
negatives. This is a worse problem than the potential outgassing from them.
For this reason, I do not recommend plastic for long term storage without a
paper liner of some sort. I have had several negatives damaged by "local
ferrotyping" (I saw it referred to as such somewhere, but don't have a
reference) small glossy spots on the emulsion that print like a water
spot.
