Carbon transfer help...

Hello!

Well I've made through the making of the carbon tissue. I've used both the poster board and plastic sheet substrate. The gelatin did come off the transparency material.

I've used Alta Vista to search through the archives. I've found detailed info on making the tissue and the use of plexi, but I could use some advice on the developing and transfer of the matrix.

I gelatine sized (10% w/ hardening), BFK and Lenox 100.

I sensitized some test tissue w/ 2-3% Amm. Dich. last night. I used a foam brush to coat the tissue after a water soak.

I'd like to expose the tissue w/ a step wedge and a small neg. How does the exposure compare with other processes, cyanotype etc? This would give me a frame of reference.

One exposed, what is the process to transfer the matrix to my paper? I'm a bit sketchy here. I know you sandwitch the tissue and paper and soak in warm water, but I'm not clear how to get a good transfer? Any tips?

Thanks

Mac
