All I did was ask, Sil! I did buy a case, which is 12 bulbs, at $180 ($15 each). They did ask if I was a business, but I said no. I do have a business license so maybe if I said yes the price would have been less.
The guy at Voltarc told me that they make them to order in minimum quantities of 120. Apparently Bulbtronics didn't want to order that many. The price I was quoted by Bulbtronics was around $10-12 each. When I bought a case (12) of 24 inch AQAs from them several years ago they were $17.50 each. So I was pleased to pay $15 each for the 48 inchers.
Maybe CA and GA locations have different policies or maybe I just got lucky :-}

How did you get them to do it? The advised me they are wholesalers, and supply only resellers!
