Judy,
Most ink jets use water soluble inks I believe. I had a HP inkjet cartridge
( this is where the jets and the ink are stored) decide not to function
fully after a long storage time. I just dipped the cartridge in a glass of
water and then blotted it several times and tested. I did this about three
times before all jets were clear. It should be noted that one should not
try to rub the jets clean as paper fibers may become embedded in the jet
opening then something like Aqua Regina will be necessary to clean out the
paper ;-)

But using the stochastic "dot" I assume ? (Anyway, no wonder the laser
printer price is dropping -- everyone has the inkjet!).

You do your digital negs on paper or transparency film?
