As a French man, I' ll try to answer your questions even if I'm glad to notice that your suggestions are right !
un Virage = a toner
virage bleu, virage sépia, virage au selenium, virage brun, virage rouge, virage à l'or = blue toner, sepia t., selenium t., brown t., red t., gold toner,etc.
virer une épreuve = to tone a print.
un report = a transfer . We sometimes use the name : un transfert as in transfert polaroïd.

Joao,
I suspect that you are right - a direct translation of virages is
bending, so I suspect that this refers to the changing of the properties
of the original print. As in the text the two processes are related this
would seem to make sense.
As to the other questions - encre grasse is lnking with fat if you like,
or Oil printing, epreuve pigmentaire is pigment print. Le Report, is I
think just a postponement.
