You echo my original question, which is whether these "dual purpose"
negatives may in fact be "multi-purpose" instead. I don't have
experience with the other alt. processes and haven't time at the moment
to hop up and learn them to investigate this, but my *guess* is that
these heavily developed pyro negatives will be suitable for VDB and
Kallitype, but will be too contrasty for gum and cyano. Still, it may be
that a somewhat less robust pyro negative may manage a really broad
crossover by getting down to cyano range and still be zippy enough to
print in Pt with a reasonably small amount of contrast enhancement. Just
wondering if someone else may have data on this since I can't take time
to explore the question right now.---Carl
