Since eggs are porous and translucent have you considered light bleeding
from bright to dark areas? Perhaps black coating the opposite side might
help this. Also coating with albumen would seal the egg and give a smoother
surface to coat. This , of course, comes from the egg white itself.

And since I have noticed a tendency to knock non-EU
products (or push EU products)on occasion, I should
like to point out that Rockland DOES make TWO types of
emulsions... only one is called Liquid Light... Yet
since it is world famous, it has become the 'xerox' or
'klenex' of emulsion names. The other Rockland
emulsion is called Ag plus, I belive, and it is a
faster (They claim it to be ISO P 160) emulsion. I
have never tried it. Have you?
