Hi Sil,
A further thought, after re-reading.
It strikes me that the precipitate referred to forms in the "C" solution
(when the boiling water cools), the hot water and "extra" lead being to
ensure a saturated solution. The text does not mention a precipitate in the
mixed toner. Not to say that there won't be one, of course - I haven't
tried!
