I must concur here as well. I recently did some calibration
with paper negatives from an Epson printer using a
reflection densitometer. While I found that shadow density
increased with subsequent coatings, some of the mid-tone and
highlight densities did not increase, and some actually GOT
LIGHTER by adding subsequent coats. Go figure!
