I wonder if this approach might be yet another way of managing to print
in silver from negatives developed for Pt/Pd and other long-scale
printing processes. If you can get a good print on grade 3-4 from a
negative that "wants" grade 1, it seems possible that a neg contrasty
enough for Pt/Pd might print on typical grade 2 papers with this
contrast-reducing technique. Certainly sounds worth a try, and just
wondering if you or anyone else has tried to apply it in this way? Been
meaning to try some Azo tests with special long-scale developers, and
will add this to the testing.
