Dear friendly Thursday Listminder, I'm going to think of a way to tie this
to alt photo: Surely the opaque glasses could be used for looking at your
UV bulbs... !?

But the "Eclipse shades" cast quite a shadow on Morton Street. There had
been virtually no mention of Christmas eclipse in home town press, city no
doubt considering itself above mere astronomical phenomena. But, armed
with this stunning gear and schedule, husband ran into the street at the
appointed time and roused the populace, who gratefully shared the event.
Young arab counterman at corner deli left his counter and partook for a
few moments in the BITTER BITTER wind and cold, pleased to be reminded
that the first astronomers were arabs, albeit considering all that
disappointingly long ago.

Yours truly, huddled indoors fortifying self with moonpies and warm
booties, asked after the sun... Q: what did it look like ? A: An eclipse
of the moon ! The "Eclipse Shades" themselves thrilled all who saw them --
and still do.

Epiphenomena included burst pipe, kitchen flood, and heavenly turkey soup.
