Now that you mention it, I had a student who screwed up some sizing and
resized in a second coat -- which came out fine.

As for alkaline bath to undo the gelatin -- that's not what the chem prof
at school told me, in fact au contraire. He said that the alkali *closed
the links* of the gelatin, making it much less wash-offable, which is why
many of the old formulas for gum size have an alkali added (tho I forget
whether to the gelatin or the hardener).

For the enzyme: get a nice fresh pineapple. Cut off the skin and chop it
up, soak in water for a day... If you like, put it in blender now, or just
take gunky wet mass and put the paper in it. Leave for a day or so, the
gelatin is now gone. Or let's say I did that with factory paper --
emulsion came off entirely. I assume similar with home-sized paper.

Eat the pineapple.
