Sandy --

Thanks for the compliment! For the last 10 - 15 years I have been (and
continue to be) deeply involved in grass-roots community organizing
centered around anti-violence initiatives here and abroad. For example, I
just got back from South Africa and I'll be going to Cuba next month to do
some work there. But photography has always played a part in my work.

My youngest kids (twins) are now 18 and I'm able to breathe a little more
these days. I've not been able to do nearly as much artwork as I've wanted
to while they were growing up (read: next to none), and have begun to
re-activate that part of my brain. It was always there...felt more or less
like the phantom limbs of people who have had them amputated. But it's
such a pleasure to be fully functional again, and to "meet" others who are
involved in similar interests.

Looking forward to more,

Jan
