RE: Fw: Potassium Chlorate - effect on Pt/Pd

I'm sure I'm responding to a tongue-in-cheek remark,
and I also haven't seen this whole thread, but
if you so much as push a small pile of sulfur up against
a small pile of potassium chlorate, it will spontaneously
and without warning explode. You will lose parts of your body
you would much rather have stay where they are right now.
(i.e. you would never have the chance to light the match)

Potassium chlorate is pretty "interesting" stuff. Is anyone
aware of a safer alternative? How about potassium
perchlorate?

Just my two cents,
Bob Mazzullo
