Gary, thanks for the rundown on paper, extremely informative, especially
for those of us who haven't made paper. But your comment about adding
kaolin "to fill in the surface" makes me wonder -- could we do that do you
suppose to paper that's rougher than we like for printing? For instance I
have some Mertin Spiesse, which is a wonderful strong paper from
Hahnemuhl, but coarse. Too coarse, I now decide, but I have a bunch of it.
So what would you use for binder with the kaolin, and how apply? With a
spatula?? (Or am I dreaming?)
