Maylee, I was hoping someone else would answer that... My thought is that
since hydrochloric is (I believe) the one used with the New Cyano, maybe
try that. But then again, if you don't have any, I think citric would show
the effect -- tho it's been suggested that it isn't as archival in
results. Meanwhile, I had a student actually intensify a regular cyano in
1/3rd apricot juice, 2/3rds water . He didn't have any citric & thought
apricot juice had some in it.

Maybe it does. In any event, the juice mix definitely intensified, tho I
haven't checked it lately. Sometimes those effects don't last.
