Kerik is likely right that you simply need more exposure. Shadow detail
sufficient to show well on a silver print may not be high enough on the
curve to print well in Pt/Pd. Try giving more exposure, especially if
you are using a thin fb+f film like TXT or FP4+. This is a bit more
difficult if you are using a film like HP5+ with a high fb+f level
because raising the shadow values may prevent you from getting the
highlights far enough higher to provide full Pt/Pd range. This will
change depending on developer too. Some developers get films to platinum
contrast without enhancing shadow speed, while others will deliver
higher shadow speed along with higher contrast. You just have to test.
