A few years ago, I bought a UMAX scanner. I also had problems with the
scanner: it seemed that every scan I made had a yellow cast.
I called their tech support and we tried numerous things to correct the
problem. The last thing that I wanted to do was color correct each scan
in Photoshop. To Umax's credit, they sent me a second unit and an extra
SCSI cable. Nothing worked. So they offered me a full refund including
the shipping charges.
I landed up buying an HP scanner and had no problem with it.
I'm sorry to hear that UMAX is still having some quality control
problems.
