At the PSA (Photographic Society of America) Conference in Albuquerque, I
was installed as the Chairman of the Techniques Division. In that Division
there are what we call "Experimenters Groups" each of which is related to a
specialized photographic specialty. We are now organizing an "Alternative
Photography Group" to cover A-P techniques and nothing else (we already
have Electronic Imaging and other Groups). It's a great learning
experience, in addition to the exchange of "experimental" information.
Contact is via email and a periodically snailmailed Folder containing
examples of what members are doing.

To join this Group, you must be a member of PSA. That's easy - just log on
to http://www.psa-photo.org and follow the instructions for joining (you
can either ask for forms by mail, or join immediately, entering my name as
sponsor, through a secure page by credit card). Dues are very reasonable:
$42 per year, which includes the monthly PSA Journal, a finely printed,
informative publication (OK, so I'm prejudiced, being the Technical Editor,
but it really does have lots of interesting stuff in it).

Those of you who are interested in this new Group should first contact me
(my personal address is in my signature) noting what you expect and I will
try - by email - to encourage or disillusion you. I'm sure those of you who
are working on new ways to Alt-Photo will find many kindred spirits in this
Group. Just contact me and we'll discuss it. (PLEASE - to me, personally,
not to this forum.)
