Gord,

Have you set up the Epson driver for it's best quality mode? I've gotten
what you describe if the driver was left in it's 360dpi mode. Select 'photo
quality inkjet paper' and 1440dpi, high speed off and see what happens. Next
I'd suggest upsampling to 240dpi in photoshop. If the other drivers didn't
band it has to be a driver issue, the linux driver may just run in the
higher quality mode by default, or upsample your image for you.
