salted paper and Arches Platine

I have just tried to bring Arches Platine paper into service for salt
prints, but did not succeed. I get a printout obscured by a course grain,
seen even in the darkest/border areas, and in the middle of the paper white
freckles gather. I tried coating without size, and with corn starch as a
size: no success.

Do other people successfully produce salt prints with Platine, and if yes,
how?
