Re: Solarized Type 55 Negs on Platinum
Dan,
I've doen this in the past, but my notes are at home, so I hope I have
this right: What I did was expose PN55 at half the recomended Polaroid
speed, expose, take the Polaroiud holder to the darkroom (bathroom),
pull the neg/pos out, let it develop for a certain time (experiment,
start with half of the recomanded time)), seperate pos from neg, and
flash the negative. Also experiment. I used a very small flash for a
35mm camera, a max blast at a fixed hight. Let the neg. develop further
and proces (the technique has been described in a Polaroid publication).
I recall I got a modest solarization, acceptable Dmin, but the resulting
negative was quite flat. Printed nicely on silver gelatin, as Ziatype it
needed quite some dichromate to boost the contrast.
Best,
Cor
