Re: Solarized Type 55 Negs on Platinum

Dan, Some time back in Taos, I assisted Chuck Henningsen ( 12 years)
print many solarized negs, but we always made new enlarged negs first.
The range on those negs were about .4 ( Dmin to Dmax) and I used D11
diluted 1:2 onto Fine Grain Positive and then onto 4125 or 4127 HC 110
from 1:4 to 1:7. These negatives were then very easy to print. The dmin
was quite high perhaps .7 to 1.1. This would eliminate the need for
contrast boost in coating which will add to his time. He might also try
using only ammonium based platinum as it will give a very high contrast
and can be used nearly dry ( Rh of 20%)
